April 30, 2013 The biggest deception that many face is thinking that compromise is okay.. Thinking that there are acceptable grey areas. & Since many refuse to do the research and their own leg work; they accept what another tells them. When I became a Christian, my former self died and the things that I used to do I couldn't do so easily. Everything in my life changed.. the way I talk..the way I behave..the way I think..the way I deal with others and situations..and it affected the type of mother and wife I was as well. & Since I refuse to be a hypocrite in my walk with Christ despite; how many times I fall on my face or how many mistakes I make and will continue to ask God to help me to be transformed into his idea/plan of what my life is supposed to be.
My ideas do not matter because if I had the slightest clue how to live right or be a good person by God's standards; I would not have been through half of what I went through being rebellious and being a part of the world's eye view of never ending grayness. There's light and there's darkness. There is GOOD and There is EVIL!! People are the only area where there is grayness mentioned simply because we try to conform our beliefs and morals into what we think they should look like or what we think our spiritual lives should look like! We try to mix the old with the new or so to speak. You can't marry a dead person to a living person and when you try to bring the worldly behaviors into spiritual behaviors and mix the two you get a fleshly confusing man made MESS!!!
There is mention of people being stuck in an in between it is mentioned as "double mindedness" (James 1:8) & "being lukewarm" (Rev.4:16) but if you read these scriptures you will see that Jesus would rather you be HOT or COLD instead of lukewarm in this case you're not even good enough for him to hold in his mouth and he will vomit you out!! I said all of that to say this; we are not to be a part of this world's way of living.
Yes, we are in this world but we are not of it. Many have chosen to accept these grayed areas when it comes to music and entertainment and by preaching certain sermons that are one sided & only preach the "do whatever ya want and its ok" messages and so on. & They use excuses that they are conforming or added worldly things and integrating them into the church to interest the outside world so that they can save more souls and bring more people to Christ. The bible warns us about this behavior in Romans 10:2-3.
"For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, HAVE NOT SUBMITTED THEMSELVES unto the righteousness of God" Another dispute of grey areas is confirmed in 1 John 5:5-7
"This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is LIGHT, and in him is NO DARKNESS at all. If we say we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanse us from all sin."
Well obviously, if you are doing this you are not only polluting God's house of prayer but you are bringing people in under false pretenses. In cases like these you can do more harm than good. You can not save the world by using the world the only way to salvation is through Jesus Christ. & In him there is NO DARKNESS, NO FALSE PRETENSES, NO CATCH PHRASES, NO GREY AREAS!!!
The only way you can safe guard yourself from being deceived is having a close personal relationship with Christ through prayer and reading the word of God and being in a church and around people who do the same. I will leave you with these words... "Be ye not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may reprove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." (Romans 12:1-2)
Words from Our Heavenly Father... "..as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their GOD, and they shall be my people. Wherefore COME OUT from among them; and be ye SEPARATE, saith the Lord, and touch NOT the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty." (2 Corinthians 6:16-18)
